Donate Crypto

Cryptocurrency has quickly risen in popularity, with over 300 million users worldwide and an estimated 2 trillion dollars in value now circulating as a digital currency. With social and economic confidence in cryptocurrency increasing alongside the needs of our growing organization, we decided it was time to harness the latest technology to bring our nonprofit vision to life.
We accept over 130 cryptocurrencies, and crypto donations will be immediately converted to cash, removing any risks of crypto market volatility from negatively impacting your generosity. This means you’ll have more options for how to give safely and securely, and we’ll be able to fulfill our promise to promote play in neighborhoods lacking safe places to play more than ever before! Plus, every crypto donation through Pledge will support a verified carbon offset project.

Donor-Advised Fund: Make a Positive and Immediate Impact

A donor-advised fund is a charitable giving vehicle administered by another entity and created for the purpose of managing charitable donations on behalf of an organization, family, or individual.
A donor-advised fund requires the donor to set aside a certain sum of money that may be invested in stocks, and later, if the stocks appreciate in value, they can donate those stocks without worrying about capital gains taxes.
The good thing about donor-advised funds is that, when they increase in value, the donor gets to claim a tax deduction that is larger than their cost basis.
THE BAD THING about donor-advised funds, is that when the portfolio is down, the donor will claim a smaller deduction than their cost basis. AND DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS CHARGE FEES TO DONORS! You pay for someone else to control your portfolio, and you lose control of donating only the winning stocks.
That’s why Recess Cleveland uses Stock Donor instead of donor-advised funds. With Stock Donor, you don’t need to donate until you have a gain! Your portfolio remains solely under your control! Therefore you can always donate and receive a deduction that is larger than your cost basis! Also, donors NEVER have to pay Stock Donator a fee for using our service. 100% of the FMV of the tax donation will belong to the Donors!
Open a Stock Donator account today and start donating stocks to Recess Cleveland in a fast, easy and secure way.

Stock & Securities Transfer

Our organization encourages you to donate stock rather than cash. Stock donations are up to 37% more tax-efficient, helping you avoid capital gains tax on any appreciated stock. Stock donations are fully deductible if you have owned the stock for more than one year. Please consider donating your appreciated stock to our organization to help us receive the full value of your donation, and to save you on your taxes! Workplace Giving

One of the easiest, most effective ways a company can support Recess Cleveland is by offering employees the option to give at work. When giving with Recess Cleveland, every $1 donated generates up to $10 in toys we can redistribute or $5 in recess programming for families who live in areas lacking safe spaces to play.

Recess Cleveland’s workplace giving options include:

  • Payroll Deduction: A highly impactful way for employees to donate directly from their paychecks. Complete the workplace giving form to connect with our team about starting payroll deduction
  • Matching Gifts: Many companies match employees’, retirees’, and employees’ spouses’ charitable contributions on both monetary donations and volunteer hours. Email the Recess Cleveland team at [email protected] to submit your matching gift form or for more information.
